What no one teaches you in art school that you need to know

November 2, 2015 Laura Wallace

"If you love what you're doing more than anything else, you'll be alright." - John Yau

Making it in the arts is a very challenging career path.  In this segment of our conversation, John Yau, American poet, curator and arts writer, shares his wisdom from a career spanning over forty years in the art world.

John talks about the things an emerging artist would not necessarily learn in most art schools such as the importance of how you interact and participate with the community around you.  I found it inspiring to hear how John values the community and giving back to it.  I hope you enjoy the latest clip in our conversation.
